Is treasa dithis a’ dol thar na fad’ o chéile.

Two should stay together when crossing a ford.

The ford has certain features similar to a bridge in that one is moving from one place to another, but in the case of crossing a river at a ford, the shallow point of the waterway, one is involved in the water, and the footing is more precarious. As in the journey through life itself, crossing the ford is easier when we support each other. It seemed like a good saying for the trying times we are all experiencing.
