Riaghailtean / Rules
- Feumaidh inntrigean uile a chur a-steach ro 7/21/2025.
All entries must be submitted by 7/21/2025.
- Feumaidh farpaisich a bhith ann ris an uair agus air fad am farpais.
Competitors must show up on time and be present during the competition.
- Faodaidh farpaisich cobhair iarraidh bhon na breitheamhan uair san fharpais.
Competitors may request help from the adjudicators once during the competition.
- Gheibh na farpaisich nan comharraidhean dìreach as dèidh na farpais.
Competitors will receive their grades directly after the competition.
Òrain Mòra Riaghailtean / Rules
- Faodaidh òran a tha ri moladh a chur a-steach, no òran fèin-roghnaichte.
A suggested song may be submitted, or a song of your own choice.
- A thaobh òrain fèin-roghnaichte, feumaidh lethbhreac de fhacail an òrain (ann an Gàidhlig), lethbhreac den cheòl sgrìobhte (ma bhios e ri fhaighinn) agus eadar-theangachadh de fhacail an òrain a bhith air an cur a-steach.
For own choice songs, a copy of the song lyrics (in Gaelic), a copy of the sheet music (if available) and a translation of the song lyrics must be provided.
- Feumaidh lethbhreacan de fhacail agus ceòl a bhith comharraichte gu soilleir le ainm an fharpaisich.
All copies of words and music must be clearly marked with the competitor’s name.
- Chan fhaod farpaisich coimhead ri faclan no ceòl aig an fharpais.
Competitors may not refer to music or words during their performance.
All requested materials should be sent by email to sgoilgaidhlig@gmail.com no later than 21 July 2025.

Competitors may choose a song from the following selection, but are not required to do. If you want to perform a song not on this list, you must forward a copy of the song lyrics (in Gaelic), a copy of the sheet music (if available) and a translation of the song lyrics to sgoilgaidhlig@gmail.com, to be received no later than 21 July 2025.

Riaghailtean Bàrdachd Ùr / Original Poetry Rules
Tha Sgoil Gàidhlig Bhaile an Taigh Mhòir a’ cur fàilte air bhàrdachd thùsail sa Ghàidhlig air a’ chuspair “An Tìr” a chuir a-steach. | Sgoil Gàidhlig Bhaile an Taigh Mhòir welcomes the submission of original poetry in Gaelic on the theme of “The Land”.
- Chan fhaod do gach farpaiseach ach aon dàn a chur a-steach.
Each competitor may submit only one poem.
- Faodaidh an dàn a bhith na fad mar a thogras an t-ùghadair, agus faodar a sgrìobhadh ann an dòigh-sgrìobhaidh bàrdachd sam bith.
The poem may be of any length, and may be written in any style.
- Feumaidh an dàn a bhith sgrìobhte air a’ chuspair An Tìr. Faodaidh am bàrd an cuspair seo a mhìneachadh ann an dòigh sam bith mar a thuigeas iad An Tìr.
The poem must be written upon the theme of The Land. This theme may be interpreted by the poet as
they understand the concept.
- Cuir a-steach an dàn sa Ghàidhlig le eadar-theangachadh sa Bheurla.
Submit the poem in Scottish Gaelic with an English translation.
- Feumaidh lethbhreacan den dàn a bhith comharraichte gu soilleir le ainm an fharpaisich.
Copies of the poem must be clearly marked with the competitor’s name.
- Gheibh na farpaisich nan comharraidhean dìreach as dèidh na farpaisean.
Competitors will receive their grades directly after the competition.
What the adjudicators will be looking for:
- How well the language was used
- How expressive the poem was
- How well the selection of words evoked imagery and emotion
- How well the rhythm and structure of the poem enhanced the impact of the poem
- How well the poem provided insight into the perspective of the poet or the topic

Inbhean Rangachaidh / Grading Standards
All competitors in each category will be awarded a grade within the below categories. In keeping with our goal of using the Mòd to encourage more use of Scottish Gaelic, the grade will include advice on improving their language use and performance.
- Ri Moladh (Commended/Praised)
- Air Leth Math (Highly Commended/Particularly Good)
- Sònraichte (Exceptional)
