Below is the full schedule of events during the stay of our guests from Scotland. If you have not registered for the Mòd yet, I encourage you to do so. It’ll be a great day of Gàidhlig and a unique opportunity to hear and learn from the 2023 Royal National Mòd gold medal winners, Emma MacLeod and Iain Cormack. Don’t miss the opportunity.

Here’s the new news:
The lunch at the Mòd itself has been upgraded to a delicious BBQ, including chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and vegetarian dishes. You’ll love it!
9:30 am: Welcome and Opening of The Mòd
Classes are:
10 am:
Introduction to Gàidhlig (beginners) – Taught by Scott MacIlleMhoire
Gàidhlig Conversation (intermediate/advanced) – Taught by Liam Ó Caiside
11 am:
Scottish Gaelic Songs – Taught by Emma MacLeod or Iain Cormack
Competing at a Mòd: What to Expect – Taught by Emma MacLeod or Iain Cormack
The competition starts ay 1:30 pm, and we will conclude with a communal song sharing at 4 pm.
After the Mòd, everyone is welcome to join us at an area restaurant where we will enjoy dinner together and continue the singing. More on this at the Mòd itself.
In addition, Iain and Emma will be at MacMillan’s Spirit House in Alexandria on Sunday, 4 August.
And, St. Andrew’s Society of Baltimore will hold a dinner that will feature a performance by Emma on Tuesday, 6 August.
